Veterinary Externship Opportunities

CVS provides a learning environment and clinical experience to satisfy the requirements of your Veterinary degree. Within a thriving equine/small animal Veterinary practice, Dr. Winter maintains a Veterinary mentorship program by discussing hospital cases as well as procedures. He provides "hands-on" experience (when the situation permits). Your externship provides you with clinical experience in all areas of our equine small animal practice (surgery, laboratory, internal medicine, reproduction, radiology, ultrasonography), as well as assisting in the ambulatory practice.


Responsibilities are to enhance your knowledge and skills:
• To promote preventative health care for equine and small animals
• To sharpen diagnostic and treatment skills
• To utilize the in house lab equipment to diagnose and confirm
• To utilize radiology and ultrasonography to confirm diagnosis
• To use and perfect surgical skills (equine and small animal)
• To increase reproductive management skills
• To provide accurate lameness evaluations
• To provide emergency care throughout the day and after hours
• To exhibit professional conduct at all times
• To increase exposure to Veterinary business experience, such as
(Client communication skills, practice management skills, business common sense and working as a productive team player).

Availability:
Externships are available throughout the year.
However, the most opportune time is throughout the spring and summer
