Abscesses are pockets of puss caused by bacteria entering a weak sole. They create pressure that is painful like a shoe that is too small for your foot. If not opened up and released, it can work its way out in an unfavorable spot and cause more severe damage that can last a lifetime. Abscesses require treatment for up to two weeks. However, they are able to make a full recovery. Problems are created when the weather makes a dramatic change or shoes are removed. Abscesses are common and may have dramatic symptoms but if caught early enough can be easily treated.
